Emily Whitehead & Breanna Scott Selected for Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games!

We are thrilled to announce that Emily Whitehead and Breanna Scott have been selected to represent Australia at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this coming July!

Adding to this exciting news, Yusuf Topari has been named Team Coach for Team Australia, recognising his leadership and experience on the international stage.

Both athletes bring a wealth of international experience, having been key members of the Australian team that won silver at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, a standout moment for Australian gymnastics.

 

Emily Whitehead

Emily’s selection marks her third Commonwealth Games appearance, further cementing her status as one of Australia’s most experienced and accomplished gymnasts.

A two-time Olympian, Emily has consistently delivered on the world stage. At the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, she was instrumental in Australia’s silver medal-winning team performance and showcased her class by qualifying for multiple finals and securing an individual bronze medal on floor!

Now, after returning to competition following shoulder surgery, Emily’s selection is a reflection of her resilience and determination to compete at the highest level. Her leadership and composure will be invaluable as she prepares to take on her 3rd games in Glasgow.

 

Breanna Scott

For Breanna, Glasgow 2026 will be her second Commonwealth Games appearance, building on an already impressive international résumé.

A Paris 2024 Olympian, Breanna continues to establish herself as a consistent and reliable member of the national team. She was also part of the Birmingham 2022 silver medal-winning team, contributing to one of Australia’s strongest team performances in recent years.

Breanna’s continued growth, confidence, and competitive strength position her perfectly to make another impact on the Commonwealth stage.
