International Coaching Team of the Year Award

Congratulations to our amazing coaches John Hart, Jess Mason and Shaoyi Jiang who were recently awarded the WAG 2021 International Coaching Team of the Year Award at the Australian National Championships. This award is in recognition of their outstanding contribution to Australia's success at International Gymnastics events.

Gymnastics Australia assigns points throughout the competition year, with coaches accruing points from Senior International Athlete results. Points can be accrued from key benchmark events such as World Championships, Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games. Coaches may also accrue points from other World Cup events such as the recent DtB Pokal Cup held in Stuttgart earlier this year.

John, Jess and Shaoyi have no doubt had great success in the 2021 competition season and have collectively contributed an enormous amount of expertise and coaching skill to Australia's representation at international events.

We at Waverley are so proud of their efforts and we look forward to seeing what this outstanding coaching team can achieve in what will hopefully be a full competition season with no lockdowns this year!
