2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games Selection Event

The Commonwealth Games Selection Event has wrapped up in Canberra, with strong performances from WGC gymnasts Audrey Hawkins, Miella Brown, Emily Whitehead, Romi Brown, and Breanna Scott.

Coaches Yusuf Topari and John Hart were extremely pleased with how this group performed. The preparation from each athlete over the past few months, particularly their consistency, discipline, and attention to detail, was evident across the competition. The athletes showed composure under pressure and demonstrated clear progression, including several notable upgrades.

Across the event, all five gymnasts had strong moments that reflected their preparation and progress. Breanna Scott and Emily Whitehead both successfully competed Yurchenko 1½ vaults under selection pressure, demonstrating confidence and power alongside solid all‑round performances.

Miella Brown continued to build momentum by unveiling key upgrades and showing clear readiness under comp pressure.

Romi Brown marked an important milestone, returning to floor competition for the first time since injury while delivering composed routines across the event.

Audrey Hawkins competed with consistency throughout, showing reliability and composure across the board.

Overall this was a very solid competition for the 5 WGC gymnasts. Most importantly, each athlete has given herself the best possible chance of selection onto the Commonwealth Games Australian Artistic Gymnastics Team.

Congratulations everyone, WGC couldn't be more proud!
