Alice Johnson selected to represent Australia at Junior World Championships 2025!

Alice Johnson National Championships 2025

We’re thrilled to announce that Waverley's own Alice Johnson has been selected to represent Australia at the upcoming Junior World Championships in Manilla, Philippines from November 20th to November 25th 2025. This is a prestigious international event that brings together the world's top junior international gymnasts. Haylee Whitehead was also named as a non-travelling reserve for this event.

This selection marks a major milestone for both Waverley Gymnastics Centre with their first Junior World Championships representative and for Alice's gymnastics journey, reflecting the passion and hard work she brings to training every day.

We’re also proud to share that her coach, Jessica Haintz, will be accompanying her to the Junior World Championships as part of the official Australian delegation. Jessica’s guidance, expertise, and unwavering support have played a key role in Alice’s development and success.

A Season of Standout Performances

Alice's selection comes off the back of an exceptional 2025 competition season. At the 2025 Australian Gymnastics Championships, she claimed gold on Beam and Bars in Developing International (13-15 years), showcasing her incredible lines and amplitude across these events.

She followed this up with an outstanding performance at the 2025 National Clubs Carnival, where she was crowned All Around, Bars and Beam Champion in Developing International (13-15 years), further highlighting her versatility and consistency across all four apparatus.

International Debut in France

Earlier this year, Alice made her Australian representative debut at the DTB Pokal in Germany! Competing against a strong field of international athletes, she held her own and qualified for the bar apparatus final finishing 4th, marking a successful start to her international career.

Looking Ahead

Representing Australia on the world stage is a dream for many young athletes, and we couldn’t be prouder to see this dream come true for Alice once again. The Junior World Championships will be an incredible opportunity to gain experience, compete at the highest level, and continue growing as an athlete.

We’ll be cheering Alice on every step of the way and sharing updates as Alice and Jessica prepare for this exciting journey.

Join us in wishing them the very best as they take on the Junior World Championships in Manilla!
